Internet Model Search ScamModeling scams have hit the internet. No surprise, really, since the internet affords cheap ways to operate while concealing identity. Shill bidding and other auction scams proliferate the internet. People use fake ids on usenet all the time. One internet modeling scam is an internet model search run by kids, hormonal teenagers, or older sleazy people. They send an email posing as a real company doing a model search. They require photos in certain poses to be sent to them. All they are doing is seeking free erotic pictures. Some aspiring models have actually fallen for this. Note: No legitimate, respected, and significant company would search for models on their own. They would seek a legitimate, respected, and significant modeling agency. Hello, I have recently received an email from a company that calls themselves Tropic Sun Wear, Inc. I was not successful in finding such a company online. Also, 2 web site links that were provided do not exist. Their email is on a yahoo domain, not some professional email provider. I am providing you with the copy of our email discussion, along with the example photos that they provided (you will see in their email that they require photos taken in these poses). At this point we are taking serious applicants only and are staying away from a lot of politics and red tape. We have a shoot to do by the end of next month.
