CONTACT YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY

You may have a right to what is commonly called a "charge-back" from the credit card company.

An official website for the state of Texas says:

The federal Fair Credit Billing Act establishes procedures that require creditors to correct mistakes quickly and resolve disputes between consumers and merchants.

Your rights and an explanation of how to request a charge-back should be summarized on the back of your credit card statement.

Perhaps the most important thing you need to do in stating your case to your credit card company is to establish you are not flippantly changing your mind.

It could also help if you can show you are not paranoid, i.e., others have already shown or concluded the company is a scam.

Do some research and see what you can find. Provide information about the company which you believed scammed you using published news reports, BBB records, federal documents, SEC filings, and as many authoritative or reputable sources as you can find.

Your chances of getting a refund through a charge-back are signficantly affected by how quickly you contact your credit card company, so you may want to first contact them as soon as you discover the scam.
